Trip Report- Berowra to Brooklyn – Sunday 15th July

Half Day Participants- George and girlfriend, Parastoo, Monica and Andres

Full Day Participants- Albert and Cathy

With the promise of gorgeous weather today, I made the decision earlier in the week to complete the Great North Walk from Berowra to Brooklyn. The weather forecast certainly managed to live up well to expectations.

The seven of us met at 8.30am to embark on the walk. We made good progress down to Berowra Waters and had morning tea overlooking Berowra Creek after the steep climb.

We passed huge numbers of people coming the opposite direction training for Oxfam.

We had lunch looking out across a beautiful view, before walking the final distance to Cowan Station. We said our ‘goodbyes’ and the half day participants were fortunate in having a very short wait for the train back to Sydney.

Albert and I decided to continue on to Brooklyn. The second half of the walk was very quiet as we assume that most people were walking the opposite direction to us and by lunchtime had made it to the Cowan – Berowra section. Jeruselum Bay was idyllic with the afternoon glow reflecting off the water.

We arrived at Brooklyn just before 5.20pm with about 15mins to spare before the train left for Sydney.

Thank you to everyone for a lovely day!
Cathy
