Participants- Peggy, Anne, Ben, Trang, Chris, Ruchee, Lisa, Cathy and Bruce (Sunday only)

Well, we met at Strathfield Station Saturday morning and drove up to Wentworth Falls for our customary stop at a Bakery/Patisserie. After indulging in too many calories we headed across to the Charles Darwin Walk. We walked the National Pass down to Conservation Hut where we stopped for a picnic lunch. After lunch we torpedoed along the Overcliff Track back to the town where we had left the cars.

We drove up to Katoomba where we stayed in the charming Flying Fox Backpackers and spent the night at the Old Bank Hotel listening to French music.

On Sunday Bruce joined us to walk through the Gorge near Govetts Leap. My gratitude goes out to Ben who offered to organise the second day of the trip which certainly made organising the weekend so much easier. Although the weather continued to threaten us, it never actually rained much at all in the gorge. We were so LUCKY all weekend with the weather.

With a final stop off at the Three Sisters for Chris and Lisa to have their first look at one of Australia’s natural attractions- we then headed back to Sydney early in the afternoon.

I must thank all of the participants of this walk for coming along- you made it a pleasure to organise. Great group dynamics and courtesy to fellow walkers really help to make a successful weekend. I look forward to seeing you all on the next walk.
