I plan to do hobnail canyon (range creek) on Saturday 5th and explore some of upper Bowens south canyon plus a few more short canyons if we have time.
The plan is to meet at Richmond station/McDonalds carpark at 6:30am.

Abseiling experience is required to join this trip see and there are some short abseils in the canyon. Numbers will be limited depending on how many cars are going. Preference will be given to those with cars who are willing to take others.

You will need a good level of fitness as will be hiking up a steep mountainous track after the canyon.

The essential items to bring are a wetsuit, thermals, harness, helmet, descender, gloves for the abseiling, backpack, waterproof dry bags to line your pack with or else use several garbage bags so you can keep everything dry, food, water, head torch.

For clothing since we will be wading and swimming in cold water throughout the canyon a wetsuit and thermals will be required.
Also please carry at least one extra pair of clothing to be in your strong day back pack during canyoning as it will get cold and wet in the canyon and you can have some dry clothes to change into after the canyon.

To obtain the essential equipment for this trip if you don’t own any, please log into SUBW's website, and go to "walks programme", then, sign on to the trip, namely "Gear Night Thursday 5-6pm”, and write to the gear officer what gear you want.

A car pool will be organised, and people can contribute money to the owner/driver.
Your name n telephone will be listed for the purpose of organising car pool. Any objection please let me know.

If anyone is running late, or can no longer come please ring or txt me on 0404980096.
