I'L take a small group, for safety reasons, the ratio is 3:1.

Experienced members are welcome to lend me a hand to look after the others, and as such, i may take a few more beginners. Please email me that you would like to do so.

You will learn how to go up a rope with 2 prusick loops, then replace the loops with a descender to abseil down a rope.

You can borrow a harness for free at the Ledge.

If you do not own a set of prusick loops, you need to buy your own prusik cord at any climbing shop, which is not expensive, then we can cut, and i will show you how to make your own loops. Please, double check with a shop's assistant how long it should be, approximately 5meters depends on your height. Thickness is from 5mm to 6mm. A bit longer is better, since you could always shorten the loops later, anytime.

SUBW club has discount at Mountain Design and Mountain Equipment in Kent St. Show your SUBW's tag. The accessory cord needs to be rated for climbing, your life depends on it, ask a shop assistant if you have any doubts.

You also need 2 carabiners and a descender.

Please, it is highly desirable try to get the gears for yourself if you can. Otherwise, i can lend you mine.

Knots to know and practice at home before the course:
Alpine Butterfly
Double Fisherman
Prussik Knot
