My co-leaders Andrew Walker and me want to have 2 nights camping at Deep Pass, abseiling training/practicing, and ziplining. For safety reasons, and the quality of the trip, this trip's itinerary depends on the weather, 2wd and 4wd cars.

Please, you can come for two or 3 days, and it depend on transportation availability.

Please, during signing up indicate which dates.

On Saturday, we go Deep Pass canyon, then we will explore a bit and/or collect firewoods for big campfire. Sunday is for abseiling training/practicing, and have fun with small zipline near campsite. Monday, if we have enough 4wd cars, we can go to Zoro, a short abseiling canyon. Or, we can go to a non abseil, but beautiful canyon, River Cave.

Please Google them up.

On Saturday, Sunday nights, we will have big fire to: keep us warm, boiling water for next day, cook or warm up our dinner. Deep Pass has unlimited drinkable water. I have drunk from it many time, without boiling, without any problem. A drop toilet + toilet paper + sanitation wash are supplied.

Zoro canyon is short, and good for beginner.

Every canyon has its own beauty. So, take camera with you.

If you intend to abseil, you must tick on the box in relation to abseiling activities, and borrow for free a set of abseiling gears.

You "should be fit" to, fully, enjoy the trip.

All canyons are about medium/easy grade for bush a walkers, and there is no swimming, and you may have to walk through cold water, up to your knee, for less than 1 minute.

In Deep Pass canyon, you will be walking on artistically hanging timber logs, hanging above water, with safe permanent hand lines. So, they may give you amazing feeling like you are walking on top of water. It is the only canyon in the region offering that. As usually, it offers a lot of fun and beautiful scenery for photos.

Deep Pass campsite has very level spacious green areas for camping. You must have a head torch.

Bell rail station is one of the smallest. From Bell, it is about 1 hour of bumpy dirt road driving to start a walk. Owner/driver with 4wd’s, or high clearance Awd’s will be given top preference. One can catch a train to Bell station, then get in a pre-arranged car.

For this trip, 2wd is ok, but i much prefer if we all have access to 4wd.

If catching train, please make sure to stay in the last 2 carriage, and also you must remind to the train driver to stop at Bell.

Weather can change very quickly. So, please bring cold weather clothes, which are made of: wool, polypropylen, spandex, nylon, polyester, ....etc. please no cotton clothes.

The items to bring are: head torches, helmet, strong day backpack, overnight bacpack, foods, 2 litter of water, decent hiking or strong shoes, spare dry shoes, extra dry sock and pants to change, shared tent, sleeping bag, air matt, Cold weather clothes and waterproof jacket & pants in case of unexpected showers, or accidentially slipping into very cold shallow water. Please double check the weather forecasts.

If intend to abseil, please take: harness, helmet, descender, safety sling.

You can borrow many gears for free from "SUBW's Gear Night".

To obtain the gears/equipments for this trip if you don’t own, please log into SUBW's website, and go to "walks programme", then, sign on to the trip, namely "Gear Night Thursday 5-6pm”, and write to the gear officer what gears you want.

At a moment, i have only one 4wd, and we may need at least one more 4wd. A car pool will be organised.

Please, you must contribute transportation money to the owner/driver.

You must wear safety devices on the trip whenever you are asked to do so.

Your name n telephone will be listed for the purpose of organising car pool. Any objection please SMS to me.

More details after signing up.
