Mount Royal National Park.

This park is almost, but not quite, close enough for a day trip. It is 50km north of Singleton, which is 2.5 hours drive from Sydney.
The NP has great views from Mt Royal and also Pierces Peak, and also wildlife including Tiger Quolls (or Spotted Quolls). It is in the South-East subtropical rainforest area which includes the Barrington area.

Therefore I plan to do it as an overnight walk, with car camping at a campsite in the park.
This allows two daywalks instead of one.

As this is partly in a World Heritage area there is a limit to the number of people who can come. It is also limited by the number of cars available.

No need for any prior camping experience, and the walks would be rated as "medium".

You would need a tent (with a fly), sleeping bag, ground mat, food for one dinner, one breakfast and one lunch (saturday's lunch can be picked up at Singleton on the way up). 2 L water (there is some available at campsite).
As it is located at the same altitude as Katoomba the night could be rather cold so warm clothes needed.
No need to carry tent etc in your pack on the walk.

Please note: there are no hot showers or power outlets at the campsite (I have been asked this question before).

No pet parrots allowed.

Looking at getting back to Sydney by 7pm on Sunday.
You need to agree to share petrol costs with car owner - expected to be about $25.

Full details re meeting place etc will be sent to you once you join this walk.

Only put your name down if you are quite sure you can come.
