Description:
Sunday 11th September Penrose Gully Canyon

Plan is to meet 8am Bell Train Station where we will travel by car. Preference will be given to those who have cars and abseiling experience. Numbers will be limited depending on how many cars will be going. The road through the state forest is fine for 2wd’s there are potholes 2wd vehicles will need to take care to get around.

For safety reasons, this trip's itinerary is weather dependant. So, it may be changed, but my first preference is Sunday 11th September. Please, after signing up, I will confirm with you as the trip's date time is coming closer.

So, after signing up, a few days later on, you will be notified by an email from me to confirm and offer that you have a spot in my trip.

Abseiling experience will be required. We will carry our packs to a rocky outcrop just before our descent into the canyon and leave them there as these abseils are extremely narrow.
You will most likely be walking in water up to your knees so bring a change of clothes and shoes.

If catching the train, please make sure to stay in the last 2 carriage’s, and also you must remind to the train driver or train guard to stop at Bell.

The essential items to bring are: a harness, helmet, descender, gloves for the abseiling, safety sling backpack, food, water, head torch, decent hiking shoes.
Plus cold weather clothing and waterproof jacket & pants in case of unexpected showers.

To obtain the essential equipment for this trip if you don’t own any, please log into SUBW's website, and go to "walks programme", then, sign on to the trip, namely "Gear Night Thursday 5-6pm”, and write to the gear officer what gear you want.

Weather can change very quickly. So, please bring cold weather clothes, which are made of: wool, polypropylen, spandex, nylon, polyester, etc. please no cotton clothes.

A car pool will be organised, and people can contribute money to the owner/driver.

Your name n telephone will be listed for the purpose of organising car pool. Any objection please let me know. People with cars who are willing to take others will be given preference to join the trip.

More details after signing up.
