G'day all,
I'm planning to do a three day bushwalk over the June Long weekend in Yengo National Park, north of Sydney.
I don't have a precise plan yet, but I'm keen to walk a reasonable chunk of the Macdonald River, as well as climbing Mt Yengo and exploring some other spots.
If there's someone else with a car it opens up more options, but if not we'll just do a loop walk. I'm pretty flexible with what we do. There's options that would see a long, hard walk, or an easier trip. Also options for walking on tracks versus more off-track exploration (code for scrub bashing!). There's also the option of trying to track down some indigenous sites, given the area was quite significant. In fact, in Aboriginal mythology, Mt Yengo was the point where the creator spirit Baiame leapt back up to the spirit word.
Anyway, drop me a line if you are keen. This trip requires good fitness, reasonable walking experience, full overnight camping gear, etc. We'll probably leave Sydney on the Friday night and get back late on the Monday night.
