Description:
Walk: Loftus-Winifred Falls-Bundeena 15 May 2016

A 13km walk of moderate grade with a couple of short steep hills.
(This is the same one we did last October - see the trip report).
Goes through a variety of vegetation types, from forest to heathland.

If Sunday is a warm day, swimming is available at Winifred Falls, and also Bundeena. So far the forecast looks promising (but maybe not quite warm enough for a swim).

What you will need:
Good Shoes (Volleys are OK),
Lunch,
Need AT LEAST 1.5 L of water (maybe 2 L best on a very warm day).
Swim clothes optional,
Sunscreen (very important).
No pet parrots.

If you read the WildWalks description (see http://www.wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/royal-national-park/loftus-to-winifred-falls.html) it will tell you that the most dangerous part of this walk will be:
- not leeches, not snakes,
- but crossing the busy Princes Highway with 4 lanes of traffic coming at you at 80km/hour!
To eliminate this hazard, and also cut almost 40 minutes and 3km off the walk distance, we will take the tram from Loftus into the National Park Station, and walk from there on. It also avoids an unexciting dirt road bash.
At the end there is a ferry trip from Bundeena to Cronulla.
Neither the tram nor the ferry take Opal cards. Tram fare is $4 adults/$3 concession. The ferry is $6.40 adults/concession $3-20.

Meeting place and time will be sent to you once you sign up for this walk.
