Description:
Cowan-Brooklyn Section of Great North Walk - Sunday 3rd April.

A walk from Cowan to Brooklyn along a section of the Great North Walk.

Distance is 13km and takes a leisurely 5 hours including lunch.
It has nice views over Long Island and Hawkesbury River along the way.

Some people have called parts of this walk as "hard" but experienced walkers regard it as "medium". There is one short quite steep gradient and two other medium climbs (on a track, not on ropes!!). At least half of it is on level track.

What you need to bring:
1.5 Litres water (minimum),
Lunch,
Good shoes (Dunlop Volleys are OK).
Sunscreen.

Leeches - slight possibility.
Snakes - quite possible.

It won't be possible to have a swim break at Jerusalem Bay as it will be low tide there that day (unless you don't mind swimming in mud!).

Train fare is free if you have an Opal Card and used it 8 times already that week. (If not then Opal fare is $2-50 return).
If you have no Opal card, you need a Return Ticket to Hawkesbury River which is $14.00 from Central.

At the Brooklyn end there is the Angler's Inn, cafes and fish 'n' chip shops.

Meeting place details etc will be sent once you join the walk, but you can expect to be back in Sydney around 5pm.

Note: walk will be weather dependent - won't happen if it is over 30 degrees C, or is raining heavily.
