EOI: Walls Pass and Korowall ridge ADVANCED

This event is being organised by Suboir United Bushwalkers and is not affiliated with The University of Sydney and the USU.This trip will be a very challenging 2-day hike, crossing from Narrow Neck across to Mt Solitary via some rarely used passes, and a whole lot of bushbashing. My plan is to start early Saturday morning from Katoomba, follow the Narrow Neck firetrail to Walls pass, descend the pass and then follow previous trip reports notes down to a camp cave on Cedar creek to spend the night. On Sunday, we'll follow Cedar creek downstream (which has also been done before) until we find a suitable ridge to ascend on river left, and then traverse around the base of Mt Solitary until we reach Korowall ridge, which we will traverse up to the top of Mt Solitary, and then follow the track back to Golden stairs and back to Katoomba, finishing Sunday evening.
This hike is for people confident with off track hiking for long distances and scrambling with high exposure (particularly for Korowall ridge), all with a full pack. I would like to do this hike before it heats up too much, as hot weather would make the bushbashing pretty unbearable. Given we will be doing a lot of slow bushbashing on Sunday, there is a fairly real chance that we will need to camp on Mt Solitary Sunday night, so be prepared for spending another night out.
This should be an increadible hike, the camp cave and Cedar creek are quite untouched and beautiful, as is Korowall ridge. However, as I've said, it'll also be very challenging, so PLEASE give a detailed description of your experience with overnight hiking, scrambling, off-track navgation etc.
Who's in?
